This depends on the design and availability of materials. For simple commissions, where the fabric and trims are available and in place – it can take a day to complete. Leadtime for the commission can only be given once all materials and deposit is received. Express service is available on request, subject to availability and charged at a higher rate.
Yes, all work with all clients is confidential. Clients work is not discussed with other clients and work shown across social media and on my website is only shown with the permission of my clients.
Though my main clientele is women, depending on the design and I accept commissions for men’s and children’s garments. But please note that children’s garments do not work out much cheaper to make than adult clothing, as the main cost is in the time it takes to make the garment and not the amount of cloth used.
As part of the consultation we will discuss fabrics. If you do not have already fabrics that you’d like to use, I can certainly guide you and help you find the perfect fabric for your garment. Please note that the final purchase of fabrics is the responsibility of the client.
Every design project is different and the time it will take to complete it depends on the complexity of the design. To give you a rough idea – the simplest of skirts will take approximately 3-4 hours as the time will include making a pattern for the outer skirt and lining, cutting the fabric and assembly, trimming, hemming and pressing.
More complex designs will require multiple fittings and longer time across all construction steps and can only be quoted as approximation at time of consultation.
All work undertaken is charged on project basis. Following a consultation, I will evaluate the design and make a quotation for the work, based on time it will take to craft and complexity of the design. To confirm the commission, an initial deposit of 50% will be required. Balance of the outstanding payment will be required prior to the final garment being made.
All garments and work undertaken is made by commission and therefore not refundable.
